Wheat Ridge

The city of Wheat Ridge is located in the Colorado Piedmont just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Clear Creek, a tributary of the South Platte, flows east then northeast through the city. Conveniently located between the Front Range and Denver, Wheat Ridge offers both residents and visitors the opportunities of mountain adventures or downtown sophistication within minutes. There are several small lakes and reservoirs in Wheat Ridge: Henry Lee Reservoir, West Lake, Tabor Lake, and Prospect Lake are located along Clear Creek in the west-central part of the city. Over 20 city and state parks are found throughout the town as well. Outdoor adventure awaits around every corner. Wheat Ridge is home to diverse cultural pockets. From Hispanic centers to old theater districts, the town is an interesting study in contrasts. Bikers and walkers can roll along the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt trail system, and bird-watchers will enjoy the community's Prospect Park.
